Additionally, the testimony of Central Bank President Gabriel Galípolo to the Senate—highlighting a commitment to a data-driven approach for controlling inflation and maintaining the independence of monetary policy—boosted significant financial institutions, including Banco do Brasil, which rose by 1.3%, and Itaú, with a 2.3% increase. Simultaneously, the resumption of Mercosur–EU trade negotiations during President Lula's visit to Chile positively impacted exporters. Among the beneficiaries were leading companies Vale and JBS, which saw gains of 2.1% and 2.4%, respectively, driven by indications of renewed Chinese demand.
