These concerns were mirrored in the S&P Global Canada Manufacturing PMI, which dropped to 46.3 in March from 47.8, indicating significant declines in production and new orders. Additionally, input costs rose at the fastest rate since mid-2022, putting further pressure on profit margins and hindering investment and hiring efforts.
