In the week ending April 4, 2025, US utilities injected 57 billion cubic feet of natural gas into storage facilities, slightly below market expectations of a 60 billion cubic feet addition. This marks the fourth consecutive week of increases in the nation's natural gas inventory. In comparison, the same week last year witnessed an injection of 16 billion cubic feet, while the five-year average for this period stands at 17 billion cubic feet. The most significant rise occurred in the South Central region with an addition of 31 billion cubic feet, followed by the East with 12 billion cubic feet, and the Midwest with 9 billion cubic feet. Current storage levels are now 19.7% lower than those recorded at the same time last year and sit 2.1% below the five-year average.
